Logistics Centers
LOGISTICS CENTERS
The Government of Azerbaijan has prioritized logistics infrastructure as a cornerstone of its economic development strategy. Modern logistics centers across the country are equipped to handle complex supply chain demands, facilitating efficient storage, transportation, and distribution of goods. These centers are vital for connecting not only Azerbaijan’s domestic markets but also regional and international markets with one another through Azerbaijan, serving as key hubs along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor) and the North-South Transport Corridor.
Baku International Sea Trade Port
The Baku International Sea Trade Port, located in Alat, serves as the largest and most significant logistics hub in the Caspian region. Equipped with state-of-the-art warehousing and cargo handling facilities, it seamlessly integrates sea, rail, and road transport, ensuring efficient multimodal connectivity. As a pivotal node in the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor), the port facilitates trade between Europe, Central Asia, and China, making it a cornerstone of Azerbaijan’s logistics infrastructure.
Absheron Logistics Center
Strategically positioned near Baku, the Absheron Logistics Center provides advanced storage solutions, including climate-controlled facilities, to meet the demands of both domestic and international trade. The center offers value-added services such as packaging, labeling, and cargo consolidation, ensuring goods are prepared for their final destinations. Its proximity to major highways and the Baku International Sea Trade Port enhances connectivity, making it an essential hub for managing industrial and commercial supply chains.
Garadagh Logistics Center
Located near Baku along critical transport routes, the Garadagh Logistics Center serves as a vital link in Azerbaijan’s logistics network. The center features modern refrigeration and storage facilities, catering to the needs of agricultural and industrial exports. Its strategic location supports both domestic supply chains and international trade, contributing to the overall efficiency of the country’s logistics system.
Sumgayit Logistics Center
Situated in Sumgayit, an industrial hub north of Baku, the Sumgayit Logistics Center is designed to support the region’s manufacturing and export activities. The center’s warehousing facilities are tailored to industrial requirements, enabling efficient handling and distribution of goods. As a key link in the Baku-Sumgayit corridor, it plays a significant role in Azerbaijan’s economic and industrial growth.
Astara Logistics Terminal
Positioned at Azerbaijan’s border with Iran, the Astara Logistics Terminal is a crucial part of the North-South Transport Corridor. The terminal is equipped with rail connections and freight terminals for handling both bulk and containerized goods, ensuring seamless trade between Azerbaijan, Iran, Russia, and South Asia. Its strategic location enhances Azerbaijan’s connectivity with key regional markets, solidifying its role in international logistics.
Ganja Logistics Center
Located in Azerbaijan’s second-largest city, the Ganja Logistics Center strengthens cargo handling and distribution across the western regions of the country. Its warehousing and distribution facilities are integrated with major east-west and north-south transport corridors, ensuring efficient trade flow. The center is a critical hub for supporting regional industries and facilitating international transit.
Emerging Logistics Centers: Khachmaz and Yevlakh
The emerging logistics zones in Khachmaz and Yevlakh are being developed to address the logistics needs of northern and central Azerbaijan. These zones focus on agricultural and industrial logistics, offering cold storage facilities for perishable goods and export-oriented value-added services like processing and packaging. Once operational, they will enhance regional trade and contribute to the country’s growing logistics network.
Planned TIR-Parks
As part of Azerbaijan’s efforts to modernize its freight infrastructure, TIR parks are being developed along major highways, including the M-1 (Baku-Guba-Russian border) and M-3 (Alat-Astara-Iran border) routes. These parks will provide essential facilities for truck drivers, including parking, maintenance services, fuel stations, and cargo security, along with driver amenities such as hotels and medical care. Developed through public-private partnerships, TIR parks aim to streamline freight operations and support Azerbaijan’s position as a regional logistics hub.
Azerbaijan’s logistics centers are more than infrastructure—they represent the country’s ambition to become a premier global transit hub. By integrating advanced technologies, improving operational efficiency, and fostering partnerships, these centers are:
- ● Enhancing trade along key corridors connecting Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
- ● Supporting Azerbaijan’s economic diversification and export potential.
- ● Streamlining supply chains for industries and agriculture.
With ongoing investments, Azerbaijan is setting new standards for logistics excellence in the region. The strategic development of logistics centers, complemented by projects like TIR parks and multimodal hubs, positions the country as an indispensable link in global trade networks.
Azerbaijan’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and partnership ensures its logistics infrastructure remains robust and competitive for years to come.
